Since last week only had one game released, I decided to just merge it to this week, rather than devote an entire post to just one game, which is why there was no article on Monday that week. Fantastic! (more…)

Manhunt 2 Gets an “18″ Certificate in UK, But No Trophies Just Yet

Gamers in the UK will finally be able to experience the poorly reviewed Rockstar-developed gorefest known as Manhunt 2 for Wii and PS2. The British Board of Film Classification initially refused to give the game a rating back in April 2007, blocking its release, but Rockstar went to the Video Appeals Commitee decided that the game wasn’t bad enough to be banned. The BBFC sent out a press release that they are left with “no alternative but to issue an ‘18′ certificate to the game.” What a shame, they were just doing UK gamers a favor by preventing additional political drama and saving them from buying a game that isn’t fun. The actual release date is unconfirmed at this time.

It took long enough, but Nintendo has finally announced the North American release date for Mario Kart Wii. You’ll be able to play the second generation of online ‘karting on April 27. It’ll cost the usual $49.99, but it comes with the new Wii Wheel shell for your Wiimote - not a bad deal at all, but we’ll probably end up playing the game without the wheel anyways. Mario Kart Wii comes out in Japan on April 11, followed by Europe on April 12 and Australia on April 24.
