I'm awesome

Well as I mentioned last night, something cool was about to happen… in Japan, at least. They’ve opened up a domain for the game: http://chronotrigger.jp. Meanwhile if we go to http://www.chronotrigger.com/ we see what was once a Chrono Trigger fansite, but now down for “reconstruction.” The same thing happened with Diablo3.com though, it was once a fansite but then Blizzard took it over, so Square-Enix could be doing the same thing here.
Anyway, the Japanese page for Chrono Trigger DS now has a spiffy intro movie, as well as a big chart telling about the game but in some foreign language unknown to man so we can’t read it! Meanwhile in North America, nothing good happened! There’s not even a countdown! Just a clock! Who needs clocks?!
Blizzard Entertainment has recently announced the development of Starcraft II and Diablo III, but is that really all that they have planned? Speaking at the Invitational was Blizzard’s Rob Pardo, who said that “there is still one unknown project” currently under development at Blizzard, which is being worked on by “another development team”.
European gamers will be heartbroken yet again to learn that there actually isn’t a currently set release date for Rock Band 2 in their Europe.
EA originally confirmed that Rock Band 2 would be released in Europe and the US in September 2008. EA however now claims that there was a “misunderstanding” and the game actually won’t be released to Europe in September, and there isn’t a set European release date.
Additionally, the September, USA release will be for the Xbox 360 only and other consoles will follow later into the year.
Shortly after launching its “Countdown Site,” Square-Enix has officially announced that one of the greatest games of all time, Chrono Trigger, will be making its return to the hands of gamers everywhere, in Chrono Trigger DS. Unlike the Final Fantasy and Dragonquest remakes, Chrono Trigger’s graphics will not be getting a graphical overhaul, however will be reformatted to fit the DS’ dual-screen set-up, and add touch-screen functionality. They also plan to add in a new dungeon as well as some sort of “Wireless play” mode, so keeping all of this in mind we can assume it will be just as awesome as the original with some added goodies.
Square-Enix plans to have Chrono Trigger DS out by the upcoming holdiay season.

Square-Enix has launched a new "Countdown Site" which is made up of a Nintendo DS logo and a clock that makes ticking noises which aren’t in-sync with the actual second hand.
Judging by the clock and the site’s address (http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ctds / ) we can assume that they will be releasing a DS port of Chrono Trigger or something different but within the same theme.
Square-Enix closed down a fan-built Chrono Trigger Ressurection Project back in 2004 which would be a hint that the company still had plans for the series and didn’t want Fans taking off with it. We’ll have more news for you here as the story develops.
…Yesterday! That is. Rumors and pleas for a third installment in the Diablo series have been in circulation for years now, and Blizzard looks not to let their fans down, by finally developing Diablo III!
I’m sure that I don’t speak for myself when I say that I’m extremely happy and excited, being Diablo is the only online RPG that I actually like and don’t get bored with in three seconds. Gamespot has a twenty-minute narrated demonstration of the game up which is filled with pure awesomeness. The modern graphics, as well as the new environmental effects look absolutely stunning.
Blizzard’s not quite set on an actual release date at this time, but they’ll hopefully be giving plenty of information on classes and the story to keep us all sane as we finally come to the end of this long wait.
Following Microsoft’s master plan to cut prices on their Xbox 360 video gaming console across Europe, sales of the system have jumped by forty-percent.

If you’re reading through the obituaries and see the CEO of Sony, Howard Stringer in there, it may have something to do with the fact he says the PS3 is “infinitely more fun†than the Nintendo Wii.
While speaking to the Guardian, Stringer stated, “We’ve some catching up to do, but at least we have the opportunity to connect the PS3 with the PlayStation Portable and beyond.†Oh, connectivity to the PSP? Okay, that sure is exciting… right? Meh.
“I’m happy the Wii seems to be running a bit short of hardware, the PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [games] are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting.â€
Stringer believes the PS3 is going to come through after-all. It out-sold the Wii in Japan last month for the first time, 183,000 - 159,000. “I’m glad that the last few weeks have generated excitement about PlayStation 3,†he said. “Everyone’s stopped talking about it the way they were six months ago.â€
Gaming giant Nintendo has pretty much been forced to cut advertising for its Wii gaming console due to there already being too high of a demand for Nintendo to handle.
A Nintendo spokesman says: “We have been running the campaign all year round, but we want to take a responsible stance this Christmas and not fuel demand.”
Advertisements for the Wii will be replaced by ads for Nintendo’s handheld console, the Nintendo DS.
The rumor that has been plaguing the internet this week is true. Bungie, creator of the popular “Halo” series has left Microsoft to go on their own merry ways. (more…)
