This Week in Games: March 30-April 5, 2008

March 30th, 2008 posted by Link in General News, PC, Xbox 360

After a pretty solid month of releases, the games industry kicks off April to deliver some truly underwhelming titles. Don’t worry, GTA IV and Mario Kart Wii are right around the corner, but we’ve got to wade through the crap to get to it first. Hit the jump for a “list” of this week’s notable releases.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition (Xbox 360)
One of the greatest games from 2007 gets a re-release on consoles. There’s no new content, but the game comes with a download code for the new map pack coming on the same day over Xbox Live. The map pack costs 800 points ($10) for current owners of the game.

Overclocked (PC)
The box art looks like “CSI Ripoff: The Game,” but it looks to be more of a point and click action adventure take on Condemned. Wait, what? The developers describe it as “a story about violence.” Real deep, fellas. It looks like the game has some decent production value though, so just because I hadn’t heard about it before last week doesn’t mean it will suck…

Also coming out this week is Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis (PS2) and More Shovelware You’ll See in the Bargain Bin at Wal-Mart (Wii, DS, PC).
