This Week in Games: March 16-22, 2008
March 16th, 2008 posted by Link in General News, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360
Although it’s difficult to compete with last week’s releases of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, and God of War: Chains of Olympus, a few notable titles are hitting store shelves in the upcoming days. Hit the jump for a list of this week’s releases in the US:
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3)
Las Vegas is under attack by terrorsts?! AGAIN?! Oh well, as long as Tom Clancy’s team at Ubisoft is in charge, it should be ok. The original Rainbow Six Vegas was a great departure from the series, so hopefully the sequel will live up to the hype.
Where to Buy: Circuit City will give you an “energy pack” and fuzzy dice when you buy either the regular or “limited edition” of the game for either platform. I don’t know what the hell is in the energy pack, but fuzzy dice are always an instant win.
Sega Superstars Tennis (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, DS)
Hentai fans across the country will be able to live their dreams of hitting each other’s balls as Sega characters starting this Wednesday. This Mario Tennis clone has potential, but given Sega’s track record of whoring out their best franchises, I wouldn’t expect the same quality we’ve seen from Camelot in Mario’s sports adventures.
Where to Buy: Circuit City will give you a free tennis racquet Wiimote adapter when you buy the Wii version. It’ll make it even easier to slam the controller into your TV!
Singstar 90’s (PlayStation 2)
The latest entry in Sony’s popular karaoke series arrives in stores, just as everyone begins to forget about the PS2. Actually, PS2 is still outselling the PS3 and 360 according to the sales numbers from February, so I take that back…
Ninja Reflex (Wii)
Haven’t you always wanted a mini-game collection that tests your reaction time to help you in your ninja training? Yeah, me neither.
Condemned 2: Bloodshot (PlayStation 3)
After its release on the Xbox 360 last week, Condemned makes its series debut on the PS3 after the port of the original was cancelled. It’s a great game, but the game was designed for the 360 and therefore it’s the better version…
Metal Gear Solid: Essentials Collection (PlayStation 2)
Konami puts Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence into one box for the low price of $29.99. Highly recommended if you’ve missed these games in the past. A word of warning, though: you’ll need a PS1 memory card for the original Metal Gear Solid, as they didn’t port the game over to the PS2 platform and it’s just a PS1 disc in the collection.
Other releases this week include Worms: A Space Oddity (Wii), Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (PlayStation 3), Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends (PlayStation 2), and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Wii).

Where can I buy the MGS Collection?
2. protoAuthor | March 24th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Warning, the MGS Essentials only has the normal edition of the MGS games, not substance and subsistance.

Don’t listen to me. I messed up. It DOES contain substance and subsistance. Just doesn’t have the second disk for subsistance. I hadn’t played any yet, was just going by that, and the fact that they don’t say substance and subsistance on the disc.
