Geometry Wars: Galaxies more expensive, much greater
December 2nd, 2007 posted by The Illusion in Reviews, Wii
Geometry Wars started out as a minigame on the Xbox game “Project Gothem Racing 2″. Since then, it’s racked up a large following. To those who don’t know, Geometry Wars is essentially you (an odd shape) shooting at other shapes in an asteroids-style.
Whereas the Xbox Live Geometry Wars was a five dollar download, the DS and Wii versions are $30 and $40 dollars respectively. In a good light, galaxies is a humongous new game, with more than 50 planets, some unlockables, a medal system, a series of co-op levels, a versus mode, and an extra planet if your DS downloads from your Wii (both sides will get the planet). What’s really nice is that, while the gameplay might get a bit repetitive, the difficulty rises as you go through the planets, and the ENTIRE Xbox 360 game is included, so it’s reccomended that you check it out.
Here are some review scores:
Electronic Gaming Monthly: 8.0
Nintendo Power: 8.0
IGN: 8
1up: 8.5
These scores and more give the game a 78.4% ranking on Game Rankings.
