Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles NOT A Dead Aim/Survivor, actually good

November 15th, 2007 posted by The Illusion in Wii

Capcom recently released “Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles” for the Wii. While the game is mainly backstory, it’s got a bit of new content, and definitely surpasses it’s unliked predecessors Dead Aim and Survivor.

While it’s been ages since the last game, and even more since we’ve heard about our old pals the Zombies, Chronicles is mainly a recap of previous events, shown as Umbrella’s last moments. Although the game is an on-rails shooter, it’s considered to do the past scenes justice, and works just fine.

The game’s main selling point is that, besides the fact that Fan-Favorite Wesker is the narrator, you play a segment not seen before, where in 2003 Chris and Jill try to remove the last traces of Umbrella.

While the game isn’t as scary due to the rails aspect, the lighting is dynamic, and many enemies will pop out of nowhere, making for some nasty surprises.

Here’re some scores:

Gamespot: 7/10

IGN: 7.9/10

Gamepro: 4.25/5

1up: 7.5/10

These scores and others give the game a 77% on Game Rankings.
