Beautiful Katamari for the Wii, maybe?

According to IGN and their “sources,” it’s possible that Beautiful Katamari may be cancelled for the PS3, and might possibly be moving to the Wii. For those of us who have a Wii, and don’t have a PS3, that’s great news! But, I wouldn’t exactly call it the best of news for Sony.

If IGN is to be believed, the reason behind this mysterious move lies within the actual port. Their sources say that they (Namco Bandai) were having problems porting it over to the Playstation 3, and that given the success of the Wii decided that it might be best to go to that instead. I imagine the porting problem lies with the Cell processor and its complex setup.

However, none of this has been officially said, so for the time, don’t consider it true. Just keep thinking of it as a happy thought and hopefully we’ll get our wish.

    Namco Bandai also stopped making the “Ace Combat” series for the PS3 and is now making it for the Xbox 360, probably because of it’s greater popularity. Wouldn’t be surprised if they cut yet another PS3 game.
